(Junior) Accountant (d/f/m)

Our Team is spread across Europe, with a Studio Office in Berlin and a production Office in northern Portugal.

To support our Finance team, we're looking for a (Junior) Accountant who can take ownership of our day-to-day accounting operations and help us build faster, more accurate month-end closing processes as we scale.

Key Responsibilities:

As our (Junior ) Accountant, you'll step into a hands-on role where precision meets process, managing the financial building blocks that keep MIKUTA running smoothly across our Berlin and Guimarães offices.

• Receive, verify, and process vendor invoices and employee expense claims ensuring every document is correctly matched, allocated, and audit-ready before posting.

• Monitor accounts receivable and support the issuance of outgoing client invoices, following up on outstanding balances with professionalism and care.

• Post journal entries and actively contribute to monthly and quarterly closing procedures, with a focus on speed and accuracy.

• Support VAT return preparation in Germany (Umsatzsteuervoranmeldung / OSS) and/or Portugal (IVA / OSS) depending on your base location.

• Catch and flag allocation errors or process gaps before they become bigger issues and find solutions on how to fix them.

• Propose improvements to workflows, templates, and processes to continuously raise the bar on efficiency and reporting quality.

ABOUT YOU

• About You

  • Background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Ideally, you already gained first experience in Accounting and/or Finance

  • Ideally, you already have some proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet tools; familiarity with German or Portuguese tax regulations (HGB, PGAAP, VAT/OSS) is a plus

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), German is a plus.
