Head of Finance (d/f/m)

Founded in Berlin by Jacqueline Mikuta and Klemens Weiss, MIKUTA began in 2017 with a jewelry line and expanded into women's ready-to-wear in 2019. Today, MIKUTA is an independent fashion brand known for effortless design, premium feel, and a distinct point of view.

Our Team is spread across Europe, with a Studio Office in Berlin and a production Office in northern Portugal.

ABOUT THE JOB

We’re expanding rapidly, and to support our Finance Team, we’re looking for a Head of Finance (d/f/m), who can set the finance strategy, bring structure and automation to a growing business, and make sure every decision is grounded in healthy unit economics and cash discipline across multiple legal entities and markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the function end-to-end: Finance strategy, Controlling & Accounting, and day-to-day operations across entities.

• Plan with confidence: Own budgeting, forecasting, scenario and liquidity planning; protect runway and growth.

• Own the close & reporting: Drive month-end and year-end (MEC/YEC); deliver timely P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and KPI packs.

• Ensure compliance: Coordinate tax, audit and statutory topics (incl. EU/OSS VAT) with external partners; set controls and policies.

• Make it scalable: Introduce automations, improve tools and dashboards, and establish a clear finance calendar and consistent ways of working.

• Partner the business: Work closely with Founders, Buying, Production (Portugal), E-com and Operations on pricing, promotions, launches and channel decisions, always with margin and inventory in view.

• Steer cash & capital: Manage banking and payment partners; optimize working capital; advise on loans, credits and funding processes.

• Build the team: Lead and mentor a small team (1–2 to start) and grow the function as the brand scales.

ABOUT YOU

• 7+ years in Finance, with proven experience in e-commerce (ideally within fashion/lifestyle) and in a multi-entity international setup.

• Strength in Controlling/FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling; you turn data into a clear direction.

• Solid grasp of accounting, MEC/YEC and compliance; experienced working with external accountants, tax and audit.

• A builder’s mindset, hands-on, precise, and automation-minded; you raise the bar on speed, quality and control.

• Clear communication with founders and non-finance teams; high ownership and follow-through.

• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets; finance/BI tooling experience is a plus.

• English fluency; German is a plus.
